Rivers Self Ventilation System
Our check polos are constructed from 100%
prewashed cotton jacquard knitted fabric. This gives you the strength of a heavier fabric,
but in a much lighter garment for the hot summer months. Because the fabric is knitted
with thousands of tiny 'vents', it allows the air to circulate and lets the fabric breathe
easily.
If
the neck is this comfortable, imagine how good the rest is.
The Rivers polos have a printed yoke rather than using
labels. The 100% cotton natural denim collar is pre-washed to ensure a soft feel on your
neck. All this is finished off with clean twin needle stitching.

Cool Cotton, Cool Cut Shirts!
These shirts are made to be worn in an Australian
summer. 100% cotton fabric breathes well, allowing air to flow through the weave. This
shirt is cut to be worn on the outside (not tucked into your pants) so the air flows all
around you. The sleeves are so roomy that your armpits get a good airing without anyone
seeing them. (So you can be cool and neat, without having to resort to wearing that
singlet!)
Feedback Pays Off!
Last summer we had a lot of feedback from customers who
liked our short sleeve shirts, but wanted some without button-down collars. Well, here
they are! (The 335 check range.) So all of you wanted button-free collars, you better get
in and buy some, because otherwise we will go back to putting buttons on everything. (And
don't think we are joking.)
MEN'S SHORT SLEEVE
STRIPED SHIRTS
The Fashion Gurus Just
Don't Get It!
If you're the kind of guy who likes wearing striped
woven shirts, then who cares if they are
"in" or not. You like them, so that's all that matters. We know about guys like
you at Rivers, so when you enter a Rivers store, you will always find what you may not
find somewhere else.
In Long or Short Sleeve, we Have
Got Stripes Covered.
Our range of stripes is a small, tight
knit group of yarn dyed stripes, but still comprehensive enough to cater for the most
discerning stripe wearer. Our shirts have been developed out of 100% natural fibre and the
various designs come in either short or long sleeves. Some designs are available in
both. So no matter what your requirements are this summer, we have all your needs
covered.
MEN'S SHORT SLEEVE
TEXTURED COTTON SHIRTS
The
man is a maestro!
We gave Arthur, owner of one of the main mills that
weave our fabric, the challenge to come up with a really gutsy, interesting fabric. Well
here it is (336/P112), a double yarn warp and double yarn weft, alternating between white
and coloured thread.
We take this gutsy fabric, wash it with enzymes to
break it down & make it lovely and soft to wear.
Oxford
fabric, used since the middle ages.
Being a basket weave, Oxford is a very stable, strong
fabric. When woven out of 100% cotton it breathes and has all the qualities of cotton, as
well as the strength of its weave. Oxford cloth has a white warp and a coloured weft. This
gives it its distinctive character. The process of weaving an Oxford cloth is slower than
for most fabrics, and not many mills can produce a good one. We give our garments a soft
wash to make the fabric soft to touch. This means there is no "breaking in"
period as there is with many traditional Oxford shirts.
HAVE YOU
COTTONED ONTO COTTON YET, OR ARE YOU YET TO COTTON ON?
If
it's not Cotton, it's Rotten.
There is noting better against your skin than
natural fibres. For this reason, all Rivers Cotton Shirts are made from 100% Cotton.
Cotton means quality.
Even the finishing around the cuffs, collar and yoke
uses 100% Cotton.
In summer, Cotton is even more important.
Rivers Cotton shirts have high moisture
absorption and wickability, which is the ability to transmit perspiration away from the
body. Heat escapes to keep you cool. Stand next to someone wearing a synthetic shirt and
you will know why cotton is the only fabric for summer.
Our bright stripes will stay bright and
comfortable.
All Rivers fabrics are tested to ensure there is
no excessive fading in the appearance of the garment. They are also prewashed to
ensure there is no loss of colour, while also giving the garment a superior soft handle.
An appearance to stay with you all day.
Our cotton poplin shirts will not pill and are
anti-static, so nothing will undermine the clean appearance of these shirts while you are
wearing them.
Weave your way through the
summer heat.
All rivers 100% cotton shirts are woven.
They are made up of length wise warp (vertical) yarns and interlacing crosswise yarns
called weft (filling) yarns. This method of interlocking yarns to construct fabric
enables the shirt to breathe better while retaining its strength.
Super soft non-irritating labels
Your neck especially around the nape is one
of the most sensitive and easily irritated areas of your body.
Everyone knows how uncomfortable a hard, rough and scratchy label
can be when it rubs directly against this area. This is usually
caused by the polyester or nylon labels being cut out using a hot
knife. Applying heat to the label fabric causes the fibres
to 'bead' and stiffen creating a hard edge which is what you feel
irritating your neck. Rivers take the extra time to use a super
soft label that has its edges folded over rather than cut with a
hot knife before it is attached
to the garment, softening the edge and greatly reducing the irritability
and discomfort.
More fabric than most shirts on the market
Rivers shirts are designed to enable more
unrestricted movement where you need it most. More room in the shoulders and around
the torso combined with a 1.5" box pleat in the back to expand and g-i-v-e when you
need it to. Mix all this with a longer tail in the back means you'll stay tucked in and
comfortable no matter what you get up, or down, to.
Four hole buttons that stay where they are
supposed to
If you have ever had a button pop off before
an important meeting or engagement, you know that the last thing you want to do is pull out some thread
and a needle that will inevitably
make you bleed. You have probably also worked out that staples don't
look that flash. Rivers specifically use four hole buttons instead
of the more standard two. More holes means more points of connection
between the shirt and the button for a stronger bond so they will
stay where they are supposed to. |
